Adoption Fees and Procedures

To adopt a pet, you must come to the shelter in person. Here you’ll have an opportunity to see all our animals.

No reservations can be made by Internet or telephone.

If you are interested in a specific animal, you will have to complete an adoption application form at the shelter. We meet with adopters in the order their application forms are received. If your application is approved, an adoption counsellor will escort you to meet the animal.

If you need more time to think about your decision, if you have to come back with the other members of your family or if you want to check whether the animal gets along with a dog you already have at home, a potential pet can be put on hold for 24 hours.

Important:

  • We recommend, and sometimes require, that every family member be on hand for the initial meeting.
  • If a family that already has a dog is thinking about adopting another one, we recommend, and sometimes require, that the two dogs meet each other at the shelter.
  • Adoption fees are non-refundable, and adopted animals cannot be exchanged.

You can find pet food, accessories and everything you need for your new pet at our on-site shop.
