Steps to follow to adopt an animal:
Consult our list of available animals
Complete the Adoption Application
We will contact you to go over the animal file together.
An appointment with an adoption specialist will be given be given.
If the meeting goes well, you can leave with your animal after the document signature and payment of adoption fees.
To know:
- We are very much aware that you wish to adopt from a shelter.
- We will contact all candidates from which we have received applications.
- We never have a waiting list for animals coming soon.
- We never make reservations.
Dogs and Cats
The adoption fees for dogs at Proanima include sterilization, microchip, first de-worming, first vaccinations and a temporary 6-week disease assurance. Please know that we do not offer follow-up medical examinations after adoption.
Adoption fee for dogs:
- Puppy of 5 months or less: $480. + taxes
- Dog older than 5 months: $350. + taxes
Adoption fee for cats:
- Kitten of 5 months or less: $220. + taxes
- Cat older than 5 months: $140. + taxes
A registration fee may be applicable if you are a citizen of one of our partnered municipalities.
Exotic Animals
Please know that we do not offer follow-up medical examinations after adoption.
Adoption fee:
- To meet the urgent need to find homes for our exotic animals, we only ask for a voluntary donation for adoption. This is a temporary measure.
